It's been a busy week & Artscroll fun word

Well, it's been a busy week. Of course, right after I mention to Mrs. LFD how the kids have been overall healthy this year, my son got strep throat. I'm glad it was something that could be easily treated, but I needed to stay home with him for two days. For those of you that have a babysitter, you really never realize how much you need them until you run out of sick days. Mrs. LFD did a new watermelon for our niece's Bas Mitzvah, (I hate saying BAT mitzvah, I just don't like the way it sounds) and it came out great (see photo below). Check out the video clip!

Also, welcome to my good friend davenedbydekoisel !
May his blog have many hits!

For any of you out there who can tell me how to put hebrew letters into my blog, I'd appreciate it.

Artscroll word.
Now I used to love the show Thunder Cats, and I did have a Liono sword when I was a kid. That's why I cracked up when Artscroll translated the word "Hey Vav Yud" as Ho!
Kiddushin, 30 b2. Yes, I know it's from last week, but as I said in the beginning, it's been a busy week.
Have thesaurus, will travel!

You have a very talented wife!!
Beautiful watermelon.
I'd love to know if she did the border freehand or if she had a template.

g6- thank you! I learned to do this from Tammy Polatsek's Aristocratic Fruits. She has templates in the back that i have scanned into the computer (my husband does that stuff) and modify to suit my needs in the case of this monogram (the one in the book had other letters). I cheat and use a tool to help me get the image on the melon without tearing the paper to shreds while i transfer the design but maybe that should remain a trade secret :) To tell the truth i have not branched out of the book to create my own designs or use my own graphics.

gr8twins1&2- thank you! I'll give you a ring next time I play and you can see how i do it.

מה הבעיה

" you really never realize how much you need them until you run out of sick days."

i thought sick days are for when you get sick, not for when the kids get sick ;)

i've had the luxury of making up my own schedule, so the resonsiblity for taking care of jr when sick devolved on me. but i just started a regular job two days a week and i dread what will happen when he is sick. (he actually was sick this weekend but seems better now. we stayed by friends for shabbat and he threw up all over their living room. thank god for leather couches.)

tr8ergirl- Thank you! I enjoy it as a hobby. I am a huge perfectionist and get annoyed at the watermelon as I work. My husband added music to the clip to cover up my grumbling :)

Aristocratic Fruits? Do they live on the East Side or in the Village?

Mrs. Lakewood Falling Down: Your welcome, sounds like fun!

Your welcome!

btw, I just noticed what it says by the comment box "Be truthful, but nice!" That's a good one, something everybody should take into account when commenting on any blog.
